Mark 4:35-41

35. On that day, when evening had come, he told them, "Let's cross over to the other side of the sea."

36. So they left the crowd and took him along since he was in the boat.

37. A great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking over the boat, so that the boat was already swamped.

38. He was in the stern, slleeping on the cushion. So they woke him up and said to him, "Teacher! Don't you care that we're going to die?"

39. He got up, rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Silence! Be still!" The wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

40. Then he said to them, "Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?"

41. And they were terrified and asked one another, "Who then is this? Even the wind and the sea obey him!"

Life is full of storms - times when the boat is being rocked, times that the boat is taking on water and even times when it feels as though the boat is about to sink.  It's in these moments of life that our faith is being tested.

Using the Learning Circle method (pdf file is attached), spend some time in prayer and ask God if there is something He is trying to teach you through a "storm" moment in your life.

Observe: What storm are you in? Where does it feel like your faith is being challenged? Are you choosing to let fear control you? Are you placing your faith on the boat (or whatever it is) or are you fully placing your faith in Christ alone?

Reflect: Why do you think God has you in this moment? What do you think He is trying to teach you through this moment (or collection of moments)? Is this moment a fear thing or a faith thing? Is there a place in your life, you fully haven't given your faith/trust/hope over to God? Why or why not?

Discuss: Talk through your answers with your family. Share your feelings. Let God speak to you by speaking through you. Invite others into the conversation either through a text, phone call or on the Facebook Group Discussion.

Plan: What do you think God is hoping to accomplish through this teaching moment? How will the changes you make bring Him glory? How will others be affected for the Kingdom with these changes God is asking you to make?

Account: Will you ask your family to keep you accountable? Is it a plan for the whole family? Will you ask a friend to keep you accountable? Is it a journey they can go on with you? Will you ask the FB Group to keep you accountable? How can we pray for you and challenge you to see God's plan come to fruition?

Act: Do it my friends! Don't wait. Obedience is key to following Christ. We obey for his glory and our joy!
